Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Jim Burn’s Statement on State Treasurer Rob McCord’s decision to step down

Harrisburg, PA  – Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Jim Burn released the following statement on the early departure of Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord

“Six years ago, Rob McCord was sworn in as our State Treasurer. We came to know and admire this fiery man, who had a passion for economics, policy, and a plan to move an agenda forward for all Pennsylvanians. Treasurer McCord has been an integral and vital part of protecting the best interests of this Commonwealth during his tenure as Treasurer as evidenced in part by his defense of both Pennsylvania State University and The Pennsylvania State Lottery.

Treasurer Rob McCord improved pension security for seniors, gave better access to higher education funding for students, and recorded record savings for Pennsylvania taxpayers. He is a close friend to anyone who meets him and while we wish him well in his future endeavors, it is a sad day for the Commonwealth on losing such a passionate leader, he will be missed.”
