Susan Stern is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She works part-time as a business manager for a local church and is serving in her eighth year as a Member of the Radnor Planning Commission. On the Planning Commission she is a strong advocate for Radnor taxpayers, working to protect neighborhoods from overdevelopment and traffic and to preserve the open space and natural features that make Radnor a desirable place to live. During her time on the School Board she has served on the Facilities, Finance, and Policy Committees.
She is currently serving as Chair of Policy. Susan has volunteered in many capacities over the years, including Treasurer for the Radnor-Wayne Little League and Cubmaster of Radnor Cub Scout Pack 19. In addition, she is an avid gardener and is the Treasurer for Skunk Hollow Community Garden. Susan resides in Wayne. She has a grown daughter in Boston, a son who is a Radnor graduate, and a son who is a senior at Radnor High School.
Susan believes that our schools are the center of our community and that strong schools make strong communities. The quality of our schools is directly related to the value of our homes, so it is critical to maintain Radnor’s outstanding educational opportunities. As an incumbent, Susan will continue to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the Board. She is focused on balancing fiscal responsibility with a commitment to superior public education and firmly believes small class size is critical. She is a strong proponent for openness and transparency in government.
