Leanne Krueger-Braneky Talks Education

With 19 days left in a crammed campaign session, Democrat Leanne Krueger-Braneky announced Thursday her education campaign platform in her bid for the 161st Legislative District seat.

“Pennsylvania is in partial government shutdown because some legislators who claim to be supportive of public education have chosen to side with corporations and special interests instead of our children,” Krueger-Brankey said Wednesday standing outside Edgewood Elementary School with a small group of supporters. “Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget will restore cuts to public education and deliver property tax relief to families who have paid more and more while gas drillers got tax breaks from Harrisburg.”

Krueger-Braneky, 38, garnered an endorsement from Education Voters Action Fund, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 2007 to push public education action plans with campaigning candidates, legislators and elected officials and the public.

“Leanne made it clear about her commitment to public education,” said Susan Gobreski, Executive Director of Education Voters Action Fund of Pennsylvania, touting a second round endorsement for the veteran Democratic candidate in the 161st race. “The voters want someone to be there for policy issues.”
